Every Wednesday (from October – June inclusive), we meet in St Thomas’ Church for a celebration of Holy Communion at 10.30, and we have a cup of tea or coffee afterwards.

If there is a saint’s day or a holy day in the week, we observe it on the Wednesday and use Holy Communion Two. If there is no saint’s day or holy day, we use the readings from the previous Sunday and use Holy Communion One.

Everyone is very welcome to this short, simple service.

Changes to Holy Week

This year, our Rural Deanery (Monkstown North) along with its neighbouring Rural Deanery of Monkstown South, have organised a series of services in various churches during Holy Week, and have invited us to join with them for some or all of those services.

Bishop John McDowell, the Bishop of Clogher, is the special preacher from Monday to Wednesday of Holy Week, and so we will be joining with our neighbours for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights of Holy Week.  We will then revert to our usual pattern for Thursday and Friday of Holy Week—see below.

Suzanne and I hope that you will make the short journey on Monday, Tuesday and

Wednesday of Holy Week to join with the Rural Deaneries and to listen to Bishop McDowell, and then continue the journey back in Booterstown and Mount Merrion on Thursday and Friday.
