United Family Service for Founder's Day (Scouting)
St Thomas’ Church, Mount Merrion Co. Dublin

Today is the fourth Sunday of the month, so, as is our pattern, we gather together as a group of parishes in a united service. This being an even-numbered month! – the united service is in St Thomas’ Church.

But this service is different. On the Sunday nearest 22nd February, we have a special service for our Cub Pack and Scout Troop. 22nd February was the birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell who founded scouting and his wife Olave who founded guiding. In scouting 22nd February is known as Founder’s Day and in guiding 22nd February is known as Thinking Day.

Our service this morning will be led by various members of our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venture Scouts. All who are current or past members of any Scout Group are invited to wear their neckerchieves (scarves) and to re-affirm their promises.

Please note that there are no 10.00 or 11.30 services today.

There will be tea/coffee after the service in the Monk Gibbon Hall (St Thomas’ Parish Hall).
