Date/Time Event Description
30/08/2020
8:30 am - 9:00 am
8.30 Holy Communion (short)
St Thomas’ Church, Mount Merrion Co. Dublin

We have a said Holy Communion Service each Sunday at 8.30.  As we are asked to keep people indoors for the shortest time possible, this service has been shortened somewhat.   Whilst this service usually alternates month-about between our two churches, due to the COVID-19 restrictions regarding social distancing, the 8.30 service will be in St Thomas’ Church each Sunday.   Please notify the Rector by 12.00 midday each Saturday if you intend to go to this service the following day (Sunday).   We do not want to be in the awful situation of having to tell people that there is no room for them.   We are able to accommodate larger numbers at the 10.30 service in St Philip and St James’ Church.   All are welcome.

Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month

Morning Prayer on the 2nd Sunday of the month

Family Service on the 4th Sunday of the month

Service of the Word on the 5th Sunday of the month

There will be a said Holy Communion Service each Sunday at 8.30 in St Thomas’ Church and we ask that if you intend to go to the 8.30 service that you would notify the Rector by 12.00 midday, the previous day (Saturday).   All are welcome.

Easter General Vestries

The Diocesan Councils of Dublin and Glendalough have instructed the parishes of the dioceses to hold Easter General Vestries meetings between 6th August and 6th September 2020.

The Easter General Vestry is the Annual General Meeting of the Parish.  At the meeting, there is a review of the previous year and a preview of the year ahead.  Any member of the parish can attend the Easter General Vestry, and may speak at the Easter General Vestry, but only those who have signed up to the Register of Vestrypersons can vote or hold office.  The Register is updated in January each year.

This year, we also have triennial elections which means that you have to elect Parochial Nominators (whose responsibility it is to find a new Rector should the present one ‘do a runner’!) and Diocesan Synodspersons (who represent the parishes at Diocesan Synod).

Please value your right to have a say, and your right to vote.  Do please support your parish by attending the Easter General Vestry.  There will be social distancing at each meeting and attendees are asked to wear a face covering.

Booterstown and Carysfort Easter General Vestry Meeting will be held on Sunday 30th August 2020 at 11.30 (after the Sunday Service) in St Philip and St James’ Church.
