This year, instead of having an Ecumenical Advent Service, we have decided to sing together for charity; so along with the Church of the Assumption, we are joining with our neighbours from St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Blackrock, to sing for the Blackrock Hospice in the Frascati Shopping Centre for one hour on Saturday 6th December 2014.
Then on Thursday 18th December 2014, the Church of the Assumption and St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church are going to join with us to Sing for SIMON, which our two churches have done for the past number of years. This is an important fundraiser for the Dublin Simon Community and we hope to raise as much as we can for them. It is one of our ways in reaching out beyond ourselves to live out the heart of the Christmas message.
Please come and sing along on both days. For the carol singing on Thursday 18th December 2014, we will be organsing a rota – singing for three hours could be tough! – so that we have a good number of singers for the entire three hours. Don’t worry if you can’t sing, we will need collectors too!
