Our School

Our Parish School, Booterstown National School, is situated in the grounds of St Philip and St James’ Church.  It is a co-educational primary (national) school under Church of Ireland Management (Board of Management), and the Patron of the School is the Church of Ireland Archbishop of Dublin.

There are four mainstream teachers in Booterstown National School as well as learning support and resource teachers, all of whom are dedicated to enabling the pupils to achieve their potential, and to sow seeds that will encourage them to develop into caring and responsible young men and women.  This team of teachers, along with our School Secretary and Special Needs Assistants are led by our Principal, Rachel Fraser.

Thanks to a fantastic Parent-Teacher Association, we have a wide range of after-school optional activities such as Playball, Speech and Drama, Computer Club, Hockey, Arts and Crafts.

The School is a green school having been recently awarded its third green flag.  As you drive along Mount Merrion Avenue, you can see our school garden which is a vibrant part of our school and where we grow fruit and vegetables.

Every Friday, we have assembly in St Philip and St James’ Church, and we have all our services there too, such as our Christmas Carol Service, our Start-of-the-Year School Service, and our special events such as our school concerts, graduations, etc. are all held there.

We have P.E. and our after-school activities in the Parish Centre.
