This is the fourth Sunday of the month, so it is the united service, and because it is June, the united service is in St Thomas’ Church at 10.30.
At Mount Merrion Easter General Vestry in 2018, it was agreed to rename St Thomas’ Rectory as Hipwell House in honour of the late Canon Trevor Hipwell who became the first Rector of Mount Merrion Parish on 24 June 1956. Prior to that, St Thomas’ Church was part of Taney Parish. When Canon Hipwell retired in 1994, the Parish of Mount Merrion was grouped with the Parish of Booterstown and Carysfort, thereby making Trevor Hipwell the only person to have been the Rector of Mount Merrion Parish

on its own.

We will be joined by members of the Hipwell family as we mark the renaming of the house as Hipwell House.
