Order of Service: A Quiet Christmas 2021 PDF
‘A Quiet Christmas’ is a service that is specially designed for those, who for a variety of reasons, do not feel that they can join in, in the hustle and bustle, and the razz-ma-tazz of Christmas. This service focuses on how God came in his Son Jesus Christ to the poor, the marginalised, the outcast, the stranger. It is a gentle and reflective service and for that reason, we ask you not to bring your children to this service. We would love to see them at the Sausage(less!) Service this evening at 18.30 hours or at the Christingle Service on Sunday 19th December 2021 – both of those services are geared for children and young people.
Whilst we are back in church for services each Sunday, we will continue to live-stream the service from St Philip and St James’ Church at 10.30 on our YouTube page, and it will also be available later that day as a video on our YouTube page. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkwQ9cDGC_RMoQNYtJBOM6A The services are as follows: Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month Morning Prayer on the 2nd Sunday of the month Family Service on the 4th Sunday of the month |
12/12/2021 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm |
The Sausage(less!) Service
St Philip and St James’ Church, Booterstown Co. Dublin |
Many of our young people and children are involved in sporting and other activities on a Sunday morning. For many families, it is a struggle between going to church and those activities. Rather than hitting our heads off a brick wall and giving out about those sports clubs, etc., we have a service on the second Sunday of the month, from September to May. It is a short service, geared towards children and young people. We usually have sausages and potato wedges afterwards which is where it got its name! Unfortunately, with the coronavirus, we have not been able to have supper but we look forward to being able to do so again. Everyone is very welcome! |
