8.30 Holy Communion
St Thomas’ Church, Mount Merrion Co. Dublin |
This is a short service of Holy Communion. There is no music at it but many like it because it is a smaller congregation and therefore more intimate.

Direct Link to Live-stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCUc8-he9Zs Order of Service: MP2 Easter4 08.05.2022 PDF Services for April – June 2022 The two select vestries met jointly and gave careful consideration to all the points made by parishioners, and to various concerns such as those who are no longer able to go to church and who worship via the live-stream at the time that the service is on. It was felt that we should try to have it at time that would work for parishioners of both parishes, and for those who join us via the live-stream from nursing homes and other places of residential care, so we are going to try having the service in St Philip and St James’ Church at 11.00 – please note the time. However, please note that we will have a united service for the Blessing of the Animals at 10.30 in St Philip and St James’ Church on the 4th Sunday of May (22nd May 2022). The services times, etc. will be reviewed by both select vestries to see if it is working. The organist, Charles Pearson, and I will be doing a speedy hop across the Stillorgan Road!!!

The Sausage Service!
St Philip and St James’ Church, Booterstown Co. Dublin |
Many of our young people and children are involved in sporting and other activities on a Sunday morning. For many families, it is a struggle between going to church and those activities. Rather than hitting our heads off a brick wall and giving out about those sports clubs, etc., we have a service on the second Sunday of the month, from September to May. It is a short service, geared towards children and young people. We usually have sausages and potato wedges afterwards which is where it got its name! Unfortunately, with the coronavirus, we have not been able to have supper but we are planning to have supper again, after The Sausage Service in March, April and May, and look forward to being able to do so again. Everyone is very welcome! |
