8.30 Holy Communion Service
St Thomas’ Church, Mount Merrion Co. Dublin

This is a short service of Holy Communion. There is no music at it but many like it because it is a smaller congregation and therefore more intimate.

We will continue to administer Holy Communion using the individual cups and little wooden blocks.
We ask that people would sanitise their hands on entering the churches.
The seating plans will no longer be in place but we ask that people would use all the space in both churches and respect that some people may need more space than others in order to feel comfortable.
Whilst mask wearing is no longer mandated, people may feel more comfortable wearing a mask and especially for singing, which we really appreciate being able to do again.

Order of Service: Animal & Pentecost Service 2023 PDF

You are very welcome as you join us for a Service of Blessing of the Animals in St Philip and St James’ Church, Booterstown.

Each year, on the fourth Sunday of May, at our united service, we have a Blessing of the Animals! It is a very enthusiastic service with all sorts of animals… dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, budgies, hens, etc., at the service… as well as their owners!!!

The usual plea to the owners applies! Please keep your wonderful creature(s) under control! Birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc. to be kept in cages, out of the way of cats, and cats and rabbits to be kept in cages, out of the way of dogs, and dogs to be kept on a leash at all times! We don’t want any unplanned and tragic eating episodes!!! Pooper scooper rules apply too! All sorts of animals are welcome. And if you don’t have an animal, but you want to bring your toy animal, well, that’s just fine too!

St Philip and St James’ Sunday Club Prize-giving will take place during this Service.  Please note that all children must be accompanied for the Service by an adult.

St Thomas’ Sunday Club Prize-giving will take place on Sunday 25th June 2023.

Booterstown National School’s Summer Fair, organised by the Parent-Teacher Association will take place after the church service.
