200th Anniversary Celebrations for St Philip and St James' Church
St Philip and St James’ Church, Booterstown Co. Dublin

St Philip and St James’ Church was consecrated on 16th May 1824, so next year will mark 200 years of worship in the church.  In the past, the foundation of the Parish of Booterstown has been marked such as the 150th anniversary in 1971, the 175th anniversary in 1996.  We did mark the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the parish in June 2021 but COVID severely impacted the celebrations that we had intended, hence we are marking the 200th anniversary of the consecration of St Philip and St James’ Church in 2024.  The Archbishop of Armagh, the Most Rev. John McDowell is going to preach at a special service on Sunday 19th May 2024 but the Select Vestry would have to have some other celebrations too.  Hence, a meeting has been called for all parishioners to suggest ideas, and to discuss how the 200th anniversary could be celebrated.  All are welcome.
