8.30 Holy Communion
St Thomas’ Church, Mount Merrion Co. Dublin |
This is a short service of Holy Communion. There is no music at it but many like it because it is a smaller congregation and therefore more intimate.

Thank you very much for your good wishes and prayers for Alan and I as battled with COVID. Having tested negative last week, we thought that we were ‘better’. After taking two services and interviewing for a teacher last Monday, it seemed like my symptoms reignited and I was struggling again. Feeling much better now, apart from the fatigue, and I know that lots of you, who have managed to escape until now, are also getting COVID, so mind yourselves and take care. My thanks to The Rev. Canon Roy Byrne who provided pastoral cover whilst I was sick and to The Rev. Canon Neil McEndoo who took the services on Sunday 26th June 2022. Services on Sunday 10th July 2022 Tomorrow is the Sunday nearest 11th July and therefore is the National Day of Commemoration and we will be observing at both of our services. 8.30 Holy Communion in St Thomas’ Church Mount Merrion Heating Installation and Alteration Works in St Philip and St James’ Church At long last, we have begun the installation of the new heating system in St Philip and St James’ Church. It has been at least 18 years in the pipeline! Please note that you may only enter and exit the church via the main door (the west door, which is the one nearest The Rectory) tomorrow. The works will also be making the church more user-friendly and especially for those with mobility challenges and for those who use wheelchairs. It is very exciting to be started at long last! Please bear with us whilst the works are in progress! Live-streaming We are delighted that people continue to join us via the live-stream and especially those who, for a variety of reasons, are no longer able to come to church. The live-stream is particularly appreciated by parishioners, and others, who are not able to get out and about, and by those who are in nursing homes and care homes. However, if you are able to get out and about, and you have just fallen out of the habit of coming to church, and the live-stream has become an easy option, we would love to see you in church! Being part of a gathered community is important and your presence enriches the worship for all who are in the church and for those who join via the live-stream. Holidays Many of you are away, and are away for the first time in three years. I hope that you are unwinding and relaxing. Travel safely and we look forward to seeing you in St Thomas’ Church or St Philip and St James’ Church. Stay well and stay safe. Gillian Services in July and August 2022 Tea/Coffee/Juice |
